Not so. Spain's Definitive Classics has just issued an audiophile version of the set with an extra disc of the material the Blanton-Webster Band recorded for Columbia. What is contained here includes not only the orchestra sides, but all of the small-unit groups, as well. ALBUM TYPE: 정규, studio. Duke Ellington. In my solitude you haunt me With reveries of days gone by In my solitude you taunt me With memories that never die I sit in my chair Filled with despair Nobody could be so sad With gloom ev'rywhere I sit and I stare I know that I'll soon go mad In my solitude I'm praying Dear Lord above Send. back my love Alternative lyric: In my solitude you haunt me With reveries of days gone by In my solitude you taunt me With memories that never die I sit in my chair I'm filled with despair There's no one could be so sad With gloom ev'rywhere I sit and I star. RCA probably would let him near these recordings 'cause then we'd have affirmation that most remastering is pretty average. Add One star for the tracks here that are Columbia issues and they are impossible to find elsewhereHello everyone wants the Complete. Where Definitive got the recordings with Ben Webster that preceded the Blanton-Webster band proper, I don't know. Those recordings feature a Webster who was not quite the master he would become by 1940. RCA-Victor used to take a lot of heat for the sound quality of their reissues, including these sessions, but there seems to be general agreement that recent issues are much improved. The Complete RCA Victor Recordings is a 1995 compilation 2-CD set of sessions led by jazz trumpeter and composer Dizzy Gillespie recorded for the RCA Victor label between 1937 and 1949. Ginell states: Although the sheer scope of this double-CD roundup of all of Dizzy's Victor sessions places it most obviously within the evolution of bebop, it is absolutely essential to Latin jazz collections as well.
