Notes

Unofficial release, which just like the other bootlegs was actually pressed in the U.K., and not the U.S.A. as shown on the labels.
Record came with a plain genetic white or black sleeve, and has a sticker on them that says "Made In England".
No Frankford/Wayne stamp, and no Herbie Jr. writing on the run-out groove. (See all images)
Matrix reads: DANCE-1-A-1 and DANCE-1-B-1

Year listed/printed as 1985, but was actually pressed in the mid 2000's.
Like other bootleg versions of this record, the labels have multiple defects on them.

The only confirmed re-press under the Tommy Boy label, it's actually a limited pressing that included a remix of Afrika Bambaataa & The Jazzy 5 - Jazzy Sensation. The catalog number of that pressing is # TB 466. See release Afrika Bambaataa & The Jazzy 5 / Double Dee & Steinski - Jazzy Sensation / Lessons 1-3

See the following release for the original pressing Double Dee & Steinski - Lesson 1, 2 & 3© ® Tommy Boy Music, Inc. - For Promotional Use Only - Not For Sale

Side "A" recorded at Zoltan International

Original pressing, with proper matrix numbers, and stampings (see all images)

Three other different pressing exist with the "Tommy Boy" logo on them.
All have different matrix numbers on the run-out grooves, but all have the actual TB 867 Catalog number on the labels.

Here are some basic comparisons of all pressings:

Original Pressing:
The printed letters on the label, and the label itself are matte, and the color-tone of the letters are not too dark (bootlegs have dark glossy letters and the labels are shinny)

Original Pressing:
Both sides are properly labeled; Lesson 3 it's actually side "A". (bootlegs have the same side on both or inverted sides)

Original Pressing:
The distance between the end of track "A" and the beginning of the actual label is 2 Inches or 5 Centimeters (bootlegs have a 1/4 Inch to 1 Inch in distance)

Original Pressing:
The letter fonts are clean and without defects (bootlegs have several errors; for example: The letter "Y" on the logo for "Tommy Bo"Y" is missing a fraction of the right bottom of the letter "Y". The letter "W" under the Lesson T"w"o title, it's completely different than the one from the original pressing, and it looks like a half letter and a full letter "U" were put together. Also the bracket symbols "(" or ")" used for the Lesson 2 & 3 titles, instead of being a smooth clean line from one end to the other end they start with a wide end and they end in a fine pointed line)

Original Pressing:
Actual matrix numbers are "TB-867-A" and " TB-867-B" and right next to each matrix number says "(Promo Only)" and it's accompanied with a "Frankford/Wayne" mastering stamp on each side, plus the name "Herbie Jr" with a smiling face :)
(bootlegs have "LESSONS-1-A" and "LESSONS-B", or "DANCE-1-A-1" and "DANCE-1-B-1", or "TB 867-A" and "TB 867-" without the letter B on the flip-side, and a symbol of a star (☆) appears on each side.
Without the "Frankford/Wayne" mastering stamp, and the name "Herbie" with the smiling face, it's not an original pressing)

Original Pressing:
The jacket was a plain matte-white with the Tommy Boy logo on the top right corner of each side (bootlegs had a plain genetic white or black sleeve, and they actually had a sticker on them that said "Made In England"; that's the country where those bootlegs were pressed.

The only confirmed re-press under the Tommy Boy label, it's actually a limited "Promo Only" pressing that included a remix of Afrika Bambaataa & The Jazzy 5 - Jazzy Sensation by Double Dee & Steinski. The catalog number of that pressing is # TB 466. See release Afrika Bambaataa & The Jazzy 5 / Double Dee & Steinski - Jazzy Sensation / Lessons 1-3
